Q: What type of curriculum is taught at The Sands Academy?
A: The Sands Academy encourages the development of the total child. Students are taught specific foundational skills supporting reading, math, vocabulary development, listening comprehension, and oral and written expression – ultimately improving self-esteem, academic achievement and lifelong success. Classroom activities include an immersion in thematic units – an educational formula that encourages language development and creative problem solving.

A: Students that have shown early indicators of reading and language delays will benefit from this hands-on approach to learning.

Q: What are the school’s hours?
A: The school’s hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Q: Do you provide transportation?
A: The Sands Academy does not provide transportation. Students who live within a 15 mile radius from The Sands Academy may be eligible to receive transportation from their home school district.

Q: What is the tuition at The Sands Academy?
A: The tuition is $8,500 for the school year.  

Q: Is financial aid available?
A: Financial aid is available based on need and eligibility. We make every effort to ensure that students who can benefit from our curriculum have the opportunity to attend. To inquire about financial aid and eligibility, please contact Julie Murray at 334-8312. 

Q:How is financial aid determined?
A: Financial aid is based on need. When determining the degree of need, our admissions team will consider each family's individual circumstances. 

 
Q: What are your application deadlines?
A: Applicants are interviewed throughout the year and accepted based on when openings are available.  Parents are encouraged to start the admission process early.

Q: Is there an application fee?
A: Yes. There is a $50 nonrefundable fee.

Q: Does the Sands Academy provide individual tutoring for students after school?
